Environment
OMS is housed
in a two story residential building with a front yard for
the children’s outside play. The building is located near
the seawall and 5 minutes walk away from the community park.
The rooms are carpeted, fully air conditioned, well-lighted,
safe for children and very conducive to learning.
A variety of Montessori materials and teacher-made
activities keep the children occupied the whole time that
they are in the school. The place is a second home to a
maximum of 45 children of mixed ages. The children are busy
but happy. The classes are directed by 2 professional
Montessori certified teachers and 2 Montessori trained
assistant teachers.
An atmosphere of love, trust, acceptance, respect, fairness
and freedom with
limitation provides each child with the feeling of security
that is only experienced
at home. The environment as a whole encourages each child to
respond freely and
creatively.
